Help with character import

So i've been trying to add these sprites in my game but there appears to be a white background around my character.
Anyone who knows how to fix this?

you need to remove the background before copying it into the project - please ask the artist that made that sprite for a version with transparent background (needs to be PNG as JPG or BMP don't support transparency).


And when you do, you should also ask for an MV sprite - the sprite above is formatted for RMXP and won't work in RMMV anyway...

I'm just trying to make an Mario RPG as my first project and experiment a little. I picked it up from no particulair site. I just saved this sprite on my computer.

That sprite is a rip from a Mario game and cannot legally be used.
