Hi, I'm making a game in RM2003 and I recently ran into a problem with creating and using custom sounds. I can transfer sounds from games that are already made, and they work fine. However, when I try to record my own I run into problems. The sounds will appear in the folder I placed them in, but when I try to make them play they simply wont. Keep in mind, they play just fine on any other sound player. They are WAV files, and I created them In adobe audition. Can anybody tell me what my problem might be?

WAV file is just a container, but music can be stored in many ways inside a WAV file, depending on the codec.

RPG Maker 2003 is an old program, so it doesn't support all the modern codecs like the modern players do. According to the EasyRPG Wiki, "RPG Maker [2000 and 2003] only supports PCM and ADPCM codecs. You can use 8/16 bit PCM and some ADPCM resolutions. MPEG and other codecs are not suported inside the WAV container in RPG Maker"

So, check if Adobe Audition allows saving WAV files with 16-bit PCM codec. It should be somewhere in the settings. (If you can't find it, you can try another editor. For example, you can open your file in Audacity and re-save it, there is a format selection in the save window, choose 'WAV (Microsoft) signed 16-bit PCM' there.)
