hello, im first, ougi or whatever hmm call me ougi anyway, ive been trying to do this for a while and it seems that im regressing nstead of progressing so ill ask for an outside opinion on the matter. *inhales, wait, exhale* ok ive been trying to pull a variable from Datamanager, 'i think its in data manager at least' the variable is the map name of the indexed saved file in scene_file or... well ive been unsuccessful. It seems that the info is stored, i would assume that it is since the game would need the map id to load and from map id you be able to at least determine the map name somehow. Anyway ive just been unsuccessful in actually getting it. My question is a request of sorts: if there is anyone who knows how to access this info or edit datamanager to actually save the info id appreciate the help/info.

First, you need to use punctuation marks more often. Its kinda hard to understand what you want. I guess you want to know how the game knows which mapID to load once you load a savefile.

DataManager.extractSaveContents = function(contents) {
    $gameSystem        = contents.system;
    $gameScreen        = contents.screen;
    $gameTimer         = contents.timer;
    $gameSwitches      = contents.switches;
    $gameVariables     = contents.variables;
    $gameSelfSwitches  = contents.selfSwitches;
    $gameActors        = contents.actors;
    $gameParty         = contents.party;
    $gameMap           = contents.map;
    $gamePlayer        = contents.player;
};
DataManager.extractSaveContents loads the $gameMap once you select the savefile to be loaded. Then it moves over to Scene_Map.

So to answer your question:
No, the mapID is loaded when loading the savefile. You could copy and adapt this tho:
