I'm a bit new here, first question as a matter of fact.
I was starting out with RPG Maker VX Ace, and I was wondering if anyone could help me out
with this issue.
I want to create an event that allows the user to inspect a door and display a message. After a player
has the jail key in their inventory (determined with a conditional), I want to display a message that gives them the choice to open the door or not. After the door is open, I want the tile that remains to be of the opened door (or gate in this case).
I've managed all that, but here lies the issue.
Whenever I use the action button to display the first message, one that hints that a key may be with one
of the guards, the tile changes form to a slightly open door. I wish to leave it closed while it displays the first
message as well as the second, only to have it passable after it has been unlocked.
