Hello!

I'm a noob in xp since I recently moved there from ace because I thought I could create maps smoother in xp, but since I can't use multiple tile sets in one map (for snow field), and I needed a sign by some road - because the snow field tileset doesn't have it - so I just used an event graphic.

I did this:

used a sign grapic in event menu > show text like "Road closed" > then I clicked apply then Ok.

then I play tested it, but when the character makes contact with the sign, it transforms into something else but returns to normal after the interaction. What could be the problem?

That's all, I hope you guys can help...

In Ace the solution to this is to check direction fix on the event. If XP has something similar, use that.

It might not be in XP. Check in the event itself (when you are creating it in the editor), and see if there are any boxes you can check. If not, you'll need someone with XP installed, as I don't have my copy installed anymore.

You have the direction fix in the event properties window.

You're welcome. By the way about the tilesets... In RPG Maker XP you can create your own tilesets easily, as they don't have a height limit (or maybe a lag limit but well you have time before that). You could actually copy the snow tileset and add the road sign.

Yeah, xp is kinda not that convenient at some point, but I didn't like how there's only one layer for tilesets to work with in ace haha.

in xp you can have three layers where objects would blend better as they're separated properly :) but I guess it's a matter of preferences.

It really gets away from you. =]
Haha thank you :)

Btw, if you don't mind. What's the difference between those four (five in xp)  options?

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
