Ok so I've recently purchased the midevil dungeon pack and when I go to add the premade characters into my game they are too large and don't fit. How can I get around that?

The medieval pack is simply a different style and one of a unique bunch of packs and won't mesh with the default assets. You could shrink the characters to 50% height or whatever but they'd still clash horribly. They are made to add realism. Imho you'll never get them to work with the standard files.

What do you mean by don't fit? Doesn't that pack also have tiles? This makes me think that you possibly the whole character does not show in the editor. Which, it won't, but it will show properly in game.

Also, this is not a Kadokawa pack, so I'm moving this to the correct place.

There is a whole series of Medieval Packs by PVGames. They are not meant to be used with any other resources, as they have a totally different style (which can be seen in the screenshots as well as in the threads here). If you like them and want to use them, your best option would be to get more of the packs so you've got more tiles to work with (the sale goes for a few more days so you can get them at the discount price). If you've already done a lot of work with your other tiles, you'll just have to put this down to a bad choice and a learning experience. Maybe gift them to someone else who'll use them.

I'd like to be certain exactly what it is you're trying to do and having a problem with, I can think of at least three very different things that could be described as the characters not fitting, and most are easily solved. Could you possibly post a screenshot showing an example of the characters not fitting?

But that pack comes with tiles that match. Were you just wanting to use the characters and not the tiles? I'm still quite confused.

@dwayne112 , please avoid double posting, as it is against the forum rules. You can use the "Edit" function on your posts to add additional information you've forgotten or respond to multiple people. You can review our forum rules here. Thank you.

Run the play test. You will see the whole character in game. It just doesn't show it all in the editor. Same for events.

Did you rename or crop anything? There are some rules that both the name and the image ratio have to follow for the program to interpret it correctly and so changing the original files could have messed something up.

I would still like a screenshot or two, if you could. Print screen and paste into an art program, then save and attach the image to your next post. A screenshot doesn't violate the usage agreement.

I think they have out of the box but if they don't make sure the character is named with a $ before the details in the characters image folder.

Eg... $character_1 and not just character_1. As Jesses's characters come on a sheet on their own.

Heya @dwayne112 - What padr81 mentioned, you might want to try adding a $ symbol to the front of your file name for the character spritesheet. By default, RPG Maker MV (and VX Ace for that matter) assume that spritesheets contain not one character but 8 characters (four across, two high). However, if you put a $ symbol at the front of the file name, the software will then treat the spritesheet as containing only a single character.

There are a lot of resources on this subforum that will assist with utilizing these packs, such as the plugins thread (stickied) and the Tips and Tricks thread. It takes some work to get everything going properly, but the results are well worth the purchase price. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with, a souls-like w/ these resources would be pretty cool!

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
