Hi all,

Based on this tutorial, I'm trying to create a picture-based menu for my game using events. I have so far been able to get the result I was looking for, creating a Common Event that uses a series of images that can function like the default menu in MV. The problem I'm now facing and requesting help with is that when this event is active, the player cannot actually move and can only open or close the menu.
I believe the tutorial I have been referencing is for MZ, which I'm not using. How can I fix this issue so that the player can access this Common Event without preventing movement? I'll post the events that I have been using below:

Autorun event that disables the default menu and activates the picture menu common event.

The common event in question.

If anyone knows of a solution or has any tips/advice that would be really appreciated.

The player can't move because your event that activates the common event is "autorun", and those events halt all other processing until they're switched to a different page.

You've actually got the trigger for this already: turning self switch A of the event on. What you're missing is a second page with its activation condition set to self switch A, which will stop the aurorun event from preventing movement.

The Autorun Event seems to keep running endlessly.
You turned self switch a on. but that one also needs to be the page condition of a second empty eventpage. Autorun makes that the player cant move while it is running.

Brilliant. Made a second page that activates when self switch A turns on and that solved my problem. Thanks to you both.
