I don't have 2K installed at the moment so I can't check, but usually you set special points (including spawn points) by right-clicking on the map where you want it to be. If that doesn't work, there should be a option in the database to set it.

- Open the map you want the player to start in in the editor.
- Switch over to Event view.
- Right-click the tile you want the player to start on.
- Select "Set Player Starting Position".
Boom.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... 
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
