Help with Scripts

Hi so i'm new here but please bear with me

So as many other people have done I am looking to re create Pokémon Fire Red with a few modifications.

I've been messing around at first with maps, events and a few minor scripts.

However I am now stuck on an area that is frustrating me a lot.

In the original game, after you have recieved your first Pokémon from the Professor, your rival says they're going to get a town map from their sister and tell her to not give you one.

In the image I have added you can see I have the image of the town map on the table as an event.

So my question is, how to i make it an item that you pick up: needs to disappear after pick up, show in bag as key item. I've been looking for scripts and can't find anything that helps.

This has nothing to do with script, it is basic eventing.
you need to create the item in the item list of the database.
then you create a two-page-event on the table
first page has the picture of the item, and if triggered the event adds the item to inventory and turns a self-switch on.
the second page has no picture and is conditioned on the self-switch

Thank you I actually figured this out a little while ago and been playing with it ever since.

I'm going to go ahead and close this, solved or not. The kit you're using (Pokémon Essentials) contains rips (and this forum does not provide support for ripped resources), plus it was taking down by Nintendo due to copyright infringement.
