Hey all,
I just discovered Tyruswoo's Follower Control plugin and have added it to my project as it allows me to do a few things that I need to be able to do. One of those things was set my max party size to 6. In doing so, that has moved my battlers up on the battle screen, so that the 1st position stands on the bottom of the upper half of the battleback. Is there a way, in that plugin or elsewhere, to shunt the battlers downwards a little bit? I'm also using Yanfly's battle engine core and I understand that has some options to do the same but I'm thinking it would need to be done in Tyruswoo's plugin as that's what caused the issue in the first place.

You just need to edit the Home Position Y plugin parameter of Battle Engine Core. Default:
JavaScript:
screenHeight - statusHeight - maxSize * 48 + (index+1) * 48 - 32
A little explanation:
  1. screenHeight - statusHeight = position of the top of the status window
  2. - maxSize * 48 => move up by 48 px per battle member
  3. + index * 48 => each party member is 48 px lower on-screen than the one before
You've increased maxSize from 4 to 6, which means step 2 will be higher on-screen.

Try replacing 48 with a smaller number, e.g. 32:
JavaScript:
screenHeight - statusHeight + (1 + index - maxSize) * 32 - 32
This should move the top edge of the actor home area down (no more standing on the sky) and place the party members closer together so that they don't go behind the status window.

(Remember to save your project to apply Plugin Manager changes before testing.)

No luck. This works if I disable the Tyruswoo plugin, but not if it's active.

Huh, that's strange...none of the features I see advertised for Tyruswoo's plugin would require such an override. :kaoswt: Looks like it's not free anymore so I don't know exactly what the problem might be.

Ideas:
  1. Try loading Follower Control before Battle Engine Core?
  2. Double-check to see if it has its own battler position settings.
  3. If you haven't already, consider contacting the author. Especially if you can reproduce this problem in a new project with no other plugins!

actually, are there any JRPG type games (I guess turn based, so not ARPGs like say, Vagrant Story) where you have only one party member for the majority of the game? (I wonder if I'm forgetting something obvious.)
*sigh* This one turned out really well... except for the left arm pose...

Yes I purposely cutout the arm cause from the pic
