Hello everyone! Happy Boxing Day!

I'm having a problem trying to get my screen to tint at the right time, then turn off at the right time.

Basically, I want just one room of a building to be darkened, and for the screen to return to normal when you leave the room. I've looked up tutorials and other forum posts and I've probably tried ten different ways, but no matter what I do, the tint either doesn't work at all or keeps the screen in every room tinted all the time thereafter.

Does anyone know a sure-fire way to have just one room tinted?

Thanks in advance!

Usually I put a parallel event in the dark room to tint. Then, in the bright rooms linked to the dark rooms, I also put a parallel tint (0,0,0) to go back to normal tint.

Yep, make a parallax process event in the room you want dark. Put your tint command first, and then place an 'erase event' right after it. Then in the adjoining rooms, put the same event except with the 0,0,0 tint (dont forget the erase event) and this will work seamlessly.

Depending on how often you want to use the tint screen command and how often you transfer to each map, it might be better to have the tint controlled from that single map only.

In that case, you'll need a parallel process to activate the tint, but to deactivate it you'll place it in the transfer events to keep the command on this map.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
