Hi, I'm a new user.

I don't know if this is the right section.

Either way...

I have a problem with the XS mods.

Specifically, XS Press Title, XS Pre-Title, and XS Quick Items.

XS Press Title:

# The button to enter the title scene.
    # BUTTON = :symbol
    BUTTON = :Z

XS Pre-Title:

# Set the button to manually skip trough each texts and pictures.
    # BUTTON = symbol
    BUTTON = [:C]

XS Quick Items:

 # Set quick slot input buttons.
    BUTTONS = [:C]

they all won't work at all.

Please help!

those are buttons, not keys on your keyboard. That's why it says :C and not C.

Start a game, press F1 and check which key on your keyboard is mapped to which button. Then use those keys and it will work.

I've moved this thread to Script support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Scripts is for presenting scripts you wrote yourself

Uhm, when the Game.exe program is opened, you mean?

Won't work.

All I get from shiftpressing a F key is the F12 key that soft resets the game.

Pressing F1 alone won't work as well.

what kind of Windows do you have? F1 (no shift) should always open help/configuration.

Sorry, I can't give you a screenshot because I'm currently on a Mac and Ace doesn't work here, and won't get back to my own computer for a few days.

I'm on Windows 10, and have a HP Pavilion. Basically the F1 key, alone, without holding Shift, will send me to a Bing search "obtain informations on windows 10".

Is there any other way to see the controls, like in the data files?

Or is there another built-in feature to see the controls?

grmbl - nor I know one reason more not to go W10, at least not until someone finds a way to remove that override...

You can try to get into the compatibility settings for the game.exe and see if there is a way to disable the special keyboard functions of newer windows versions.

Because no, only F1 will get you into that configuration - you can't change the game.exe in any way.

But perhaps someone can post a screenshot for you, that way you would at least know the default settings.

EDIT: or you can try to search in the editors help file if you can get there by menu, it might be listed there as well

I searched how to use the normal F keys - just hold Fn while pressing the F key.

Thanks, it worked.

Another thing, that has not much to do about this blog itself, but I'm asking it anyway.

The XS Menu Delux script. It has a "Map" section, right? But it loads Map IDs, not names. I want it to check for Map names.

How do I edit the script so that it shows the Map name?

like this:

"Map: #{$data_mapinfos[$game_map.map_id].name}",

the [$game_map.map_id] section, what's the term for the Map name?
