First I would like to apologize if this is the wrong section. The forum layout was confusing me. Not sure if this is a software or resource issue. I didn't see Yanfly in the sub forum.

I posted this on reddit first before I discovered this forum, so I'll just copy paste it here because I'm not sure the reddit active.

Hi. I'm new to rpgm and wanted to make a super simple atb game to get a feel for the game. I'm not using a ton of plugins just yet, and have been watching the videos on yanfly's website, as well as a dude on youtube who is incredibly helpful.

That being said, there are some things that they don't cover, I assume because anyone with basic knowledge of RPGM would know how to do what I'm asking for help with. :p

So anyway, in the screenshot I posted, his face is covered by the HP and SP bars, as well as the ATB bar being not even close to the others.

I toyed around and saw that the y param changed where the HP gauge went, but that was the only I could figure out how to move.

I have just a few simple questions for this.

  1. Is it possible to lower the ATB gauge to line up with the other meters?
  2. Is there a way to reduce the width of these meters so they don't block the face?
  3. Is it possible to change the way they look completely, to not be colored rectangles but something like the FF VI meters maybe?

Sorry to be asking such noob questions but I've been messing with them for a while now and made basically no progress.

This goes to plugin support, actually, so I'm moving it (there's three support sections: general support for the maker, resource support, and script/plugin support).

Ok thanks a lot for the help. Sorry again for posting in the wrong section. :p

I didn't expect I'd need to learn js so soon though so I'll have to hunker down on that. This is much more advanced than the yanfly stuff I've been playing around with.

You don't need to actually learn js but it helps a lot. :)

Oh well I figured since this extension was basically just letting me edit the js values in rpg maker instead of a text editor it was js editing. :p

I'm just putting random stuff into the plugin now to see what changes because all the stuff in that thread was way over my head at the moment.

1. For this you need to edit the ATB Gague Y.

2. Yes, you can change the width of all gauges with the DreamX Extension. You can try to replace the default value with basicAreaRect.width/2

3. Sorry, I don't know how the gauges look in FF VI.

Wow thanks a lot. That really helped.

I've learned a couple other things thanks to you telling me how to get started. Right now though, I'm trying to figure out how to to make the gauges thinner.

If it's possible to do at least. I haven't figured it out yet. If you had any tips I'd appreciate it.

I can't seem to figure out what the deal is with the HP and SP bars after moving them though, if you had any ideas.

I initially thought it's because I changed the formula to resemble the atb formula, but switching back to the original one still looked the same.

The problem, if the picture doesn't really clarify, is that while the atb gauge is charging HP and SP are stuck like that and pop back to how it should look after it's full.

Oh, and this is a picture of what I meant by the FF style.

You can't really customize the gauges with the Extension Plugin, so I would recommend using

If you want to have a similar look as the FF VI style, the YEP_BattleStatusWindow is not the right choice I think, then you should rather look into

you're so helpful it's crazy. Ok thank you, I'll look into those. I was only using yanfly because I'm basically only running stuff off his site right now.

I didn't want to mix a bunch of plugins and they end up incompatible.

Thanks again I'll check them out and try not to blow you up with more questions.

The Prettier Gauges plugin should not cause any problems, I use it myself with a lot of other Yanfly plugins.

I don't use VE plugins so I can not say if they will work well together, but I hear a lot of people say use either Yanfly's OR Victor's plugins.

Prettier Gauges is awesome. Thanks a lot for the heads up. I went into the .js and added a couple lines to let me recolor the atb gauge and it actually worked!

That being said, I'm trying to find a way to add ATB to the meter like the HP and MP have. When I figure out how to do that, I can also rename my MP to SP.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
