The Author is actually KAL posted on RPGMakervxace.net back in 2012
Allows the use of the change battleback command in battle
I had to use the internet archive to get the actual page where it was posted.

To say "it doesn't work" is not helpful as we have no way of knowing what has gone wrong. It could be one of many things.

Tell us exactly what happened. Did you get an error message?

No I did not change anything I just posted the original code after I found it on the internet.

The basic issue is that the game has a lot of bugs, like you found.
You need to apply the patch, which overwrites the scripts file.
The link for it was on the same page where you got the game file itself.
Extract the data.rar file into the game project folder overwriting the original files in the data folder.
Then you should not have any problems. But you may need to start a new game.
The script you mentioned at the start is not in the patch. It was removed.

@Roninator2 I saw "try this" on the note... IDK if that was you or the original script.
my reasoning being, that "scene" there was definitely to blame.
I saw a check for scene and what seems to be an error handler, I assumed it was a fix.

I can't think about any scenario why #command_283 would ever be executed when SceneManager's @scene instance of Scene_Battle hasn't defined its #spriteset yet. But okay, this is what you need to insert directly below where the temporary local variable scene is defined as SceneManager.scene:

Ruby:
      return unless scene.spriteset

This line will cancel further execution of the code if the object which is needed to run the dispose- and create-functions is not present (again, it's confusing that this can even happen).

I guess I should send my CV to Hasbro. I've made Monopoly cheaters edition more fun and challenging. I've developed custom cheats and chest/chance cards for it. And I've cleared many nightmares through my cards and rules.
I'm only missing 2 more bgms for my game but maaaaan, searching for these tracks is killing me. Can't find anything good to replace MZ's Theme 2 and Scene 5 I have as placeholders. Everything is too epic or too evil or too alarming. That 'scene 5' track in particular would fit nicely with my scene. Well, at least I finally figured what my last click-fest of a gameplay element will be like, so something positive :D
