Okay, so the introduction thing probably should have been done like in February when I started this project, but while I'm waiting for Archaia to approve my Early Release thread thing, I figured I should probably put something in here. Hi, I'm Carduus. I'm a thirty-something in a white-collar job in the Midwest, spending my days overlooking Lake Erie from fifteen floors up.
I've been playing rpg's since FF1 and have several interesting memories of ten year old me trying to latch on to a D&D game made up of college kids. I have 13 years' experience in running text-based roleplaying rpgs, like research, and like to draw. So I figured I'd combine these in a 16-bit game, called 'A Different Clarity'. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I have spent months taking a 200-hour game and paring it down to its essentials, and when *that* wasn't small enough, I decided to make it a trilogy. Here's to hoping I haven't *still* bit off more than I can chew.
Issues lately in my project are:
1. Trying to learn Javascript bit by bit, but I don't have much time to devote to it, sadly.
2. Figuring out how to implement the simplistic, flowy style of my whiteboard art for my imagery, without going out and buying a 200+ dollar tablet.
3. Tying subquests together to give the player a deeper knowledge of the theme/setting.
So uh, hi. Time to go edit my Early Release post just one more time...
