I'm an oldish member, having joined a year ago. I like to lurk and answer questions whenever I can. I also have made a tutorial or 2. In my free time I like to smash out a game each week. Haha, thats not true, but I am currently working on my 4th game in 1 1/2 months. Why? Because Contests.

And because I am a masochist. I am going to polish up a few of them and have a massive "Game Dumping Day", depending on how things go, it will be around christmas.

What else? Oh, I downloaded and fiddled with Blender the other day.

you know, funny story... I noticed you replied to this, so I went to check the OP, and noticed miles of nothing but blank space.

I haven't made any epic games.  I think currently, the longest one (and my FIRST project) is about 20 mins. and the rest clock out <10 minutes.

I have learned that I overestimate my abilities to meet a deadline for whatever game  I am working on. No matter how simple or easy to do, I ALWAYS overestimate my abilities.

I have learned also that I need to find testers for my games. Outside testers are very important to a fully functional product.

Hey there! I saw a recent status you posted about binding a book.

I did a butchering of a job for my wife one Christmas. She was really down and out from not being able to find any agents or publishers. So I printed her book and bound it.
A good lesson I learned from this is that I should have followed a tutorial.

It looks like a book, is solid as can be, but I got soooooo many blisters hand sewing all of those pages together and my cover work made the book very stiff and a bit difficult to hold open until you get a good bit into it.

Hey Zortik!

Ouch! Sorry to hear about the blisters! I haven't encountered that issue yet, thankfully, but sewing the pages together gets tedious, no? Do you have a picture of the book you made? I would love to see it! what did you make the cover from? I have made a few books at this point, and I have enough leaves of paper to make 2 more, at which point I need to make more paper, which is where it gets really boring. I sort of followed a tutorial, sort of let my intuition (read: lack of experience ) guide my hand for the first book or two I made, but it gets easier and I learn new tricks everytime.

I actually need to look for the pictures I took while making it. They're not on my recent backup so they might've been lost when my previous-previous computer bit the dust out of nowhere.

However, there were two Christmas pictures taken that show the front cover along with the spine.

When I get some time. Maybe I'll take a picture of my custom cover versus the professional one that has been done for it.
