Hello there everyone. I'm Grem, and I'm kind of new to the RPG Maker community.

I've always known about the Makers, but when I first heard of them they had no stateside release, so I didn't dabble too much with them. So imagine my surprise when, a year ago, I did a Google search to see if they were around, and I find an official English site! I purchased RMXP shortly after, and have messed around with it ever since. I'm amazed at how much the community has grown since those early, early days, and it's uplifting to see such a network of support.

I've wanted to make RPGs ever since I played my first, Final Fantasy VII, over twelve years ago. With Ace coming out, and all of the resources flowing out of the community, I hope to make that a reality.

So, uhm. Hello. =]

Final Fantasy 7 was your first? You're making me feel old Grem! (My first was Breath of Fire on the SNES). Good to see a fellow RPG Maker though, whether they be new or old!

Haha, well, I had an opportunity for Phantasy Star IV to be my first, but it was my dad's copy and he was really, REALLY protective of his saves. So I never got to play it until years later, when it came out on the Wii's Virtual Console. So yeah, FF7 was my first!

Welcome :) .

4 was my first (2 in the US) on the SNES, I was lucky to have family in the US at the time who Bought me a US Snes (Not thinking obviously) and FF2, safe to say that game put a stop to any outdoor activities as a child.

Howdy Grem! Hey no hard feelings on FF7, it was my first RPG, I was really naive to that genre until I was a teenager.

It would seem that most people start with a Final Fantasy game as their first RPG. Personally, I started with FF1 and Ultima: Exodus. All of my uncles liked RPGs and as I grew older and they got newer games, I got to play them. Phantasy Star 4, Breath of Fire 1 & 2, FF 4 & 6, Crono Trigger, and so many more were just so good that I have been a huge fan of RPGs since.

Anyway, good luck with your game making. Tons of insperation out there and it is never too late to play some of the older stuff too. ( I am sure you probably have, but just saying. )

Wow, lots of good games I'm seeing. My own history starts from FF7, traces its way through Final Fantasy Tactics and Breath of Fire 3, to Grandia II. I think Grandia II is the last true jRPG I've played; I've since veered off into the Tactics genre and western RPGs. But I'm starting to go back and play a lot of goodies; I just bought Grandia (the first) and Suikoden for my PSP, and I look forward to many hours playing those.

Hi Grem :)

I agree, it's nice to use a game engine that has such a huge community. Ace will be no different ... except I hope it says really warm and fuzzy :)

Hey Grem nice to meet you and welcome. Like Fuzz I started out on DW1 and Wizardry1. I've played all the games you mentioned and enjoyed them all. And the Suikoden series is beyond awesome, Suikoden 2 is my favorite RPG ever made. All of them were at least good even Suikoden 4 which many hated.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
