Hey! Traveler looking to fill free time.

Hey, I'm Zovc.

I hail from the US, but after living almost three decades in the same small town I got quite tired of my life out there. I decided to take the majority of what I've saved and go traveling to see what life around the world is like--maybe I'll find a place I'd actually like to call home? Currently, I'm teaching English in Southeast Asia to help pay my way, and it's very light on hours. I can only walk so much, and I can only communicate with folks so well since my understanding of the language is very basic, which is leaving me a little introverted and longing for a creative outlet.

Back in the day, I fooled around a lot with the legacy RPG Makers, but I never really made progress on any of my ideas. But, over the years I've had quite a few inspired ideas for games that I wanted to follow through with. I tend to gravitate towards games that aren't destined for the spotlight, and would like to see some of the mechanics and themes I've grown to love have their torches passed on.

Over the past few days, I set up an emulator to play an old favorite--Time Stalkers from the Dreamcast--and the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to give making a game inspired by it a shot.

So, howdy, I'm going to be poking around and trying to figure out where to start with this project. Once I gather my thoughts a little better and find the right place to make a thread focused on that (if there is a place for that), I'll try to open some more specific discussion.

If you have problems sticking to a project, my suggestion is that you try to just keep going. Often times I think I'm too tired or not in the mood to work on my game, but then I'm like "Ok, just 10 minutes. I can review that one piece of code or refactor that one file or just spellcheck that cutscene." Often times I just keep going and stick to it for 2 or 3 or even more hours instead of just 10 minutes.

I found that, it's just not cooperating. I Browse for my file and select it, its name shows up while in the top right there's a 'progress thing', and eventually it changes from showing my file's name to "No file selected." and if I click Okay, nothing changes.

I actually had a similar issue when I tried to upload a JPG file. It also happened with a PNG file, but it was uploaded once I refreshed the page. I use Opera so I assumed it must be something with Opera or the Chromium version they use.

Hm. My file's a .PNG, if I try uploading it a second time (after the first one goes back to "No file selected."), it lets the file name stick, but clicking Okay doesn't do anything.

I'm not sure what to suggest other than trying another image format (.jpg maybe?) or another browser.

@zovc Welcome the community! I've been in a lot of communities on the internet, but this is by far the kindest. I've practically used them all (except typical ones like FB and Twitter): this community is great, Google+ can be welcoming, Miiverse was a 5 to 7-year slog of good and bad (ah, I remember those days- back when the admins were jokingly called "badmins", clans were just forming on there in various games, Bigley was the dankest meme on there, and the ever-so-frequent two week bans from false reporters was called "being in Miiverse prison"... Gods, all this remembering is making me feel old now...), and everywhere else has been a toxic wasteland that puts even the Wastelands from Fallout to shame.

Despite my ramblings and nostalgia trips, I do hope you enjoy it here.

That would have been my guess. It's by far the most ambitious and well known of my plugins. I've only been releasing them since December so my library is still small especially since I've been gravitating towards "whole system" type ones as opposed to smaller individual pieces (Yanfly and others seem to have those largely covered).

I'm glad you like it. I actually have an update coming for that one in the next few days that adds a little more functionality to it.
