Hi everyone- like the title says, my name is Clint and I'm new here.

I just got RPG Maker MV like 3 days ago and have been learning a lot of the software and "trying" to start out my new game.

I'm actually more of an artist than a game designer and all that (and have very minimal knowledge in coding). Anyways- I hope to see how this forum will be for me and meet all you guys. I've been spending tons of hours watching Youtube Videos and such learning the game engine's capabilities and so on and have been working on a GDD in the past 2 days as well (barely touching the actual program itself. LOL)

I think I'm overthinking things- but ah well!

Lol, my longest GDD was 279 pages, NOT including the story.(That one is not a RPGMaker project though.)

Thanks! I feel like- the more I work on it, the more I go crazy with the amount of stuff done. Haha! I have to spend so many hours re-watching the same video on "How to make a Quest in RPG Maker MV" just to remember how to make one.

Ah neat. Speaking of GDDs- This was is the first one I've created. Do people normally make GDDs when they make an RPG Maker Game? 

I thought of making one because I felt like I would be so confused if I just went in the  program and had no idea where the story went, how many characters, skills, monsters, tilesets, and monsters and etc. there were. *shrugs*

But at the same time- I also felt like a lot of the stuff in a standard GDD were left blank... so..

It varies from person to person, and sometimes even from project to project, but they can always be of use, even if they aren't actually required. If nothing else it will help you work through stuff in your head before attempting to execute it in the editor.
