Hi, I'm New Here...but not new at this!

Hello everyone!

Apparently my account name here is CrowStorm! On RPGMaker.net, if any of you go there, you might have seen me posting there (too much) there as StormCrow. Storm Crow, Crow Storm, same thing. I have been involved with the hobby since oh....2001...and yes, I'm mortified of the thought of you doing the math and figuring out how old I must be for that to be true (I will say this: like some of you probably have, I started EXTREMELY young). For those first 16 years (during which I went by a bunch of different names) I was actually so cripplingly shy that I didn't manage any notable releases. Then in late 2017 I lost a job--not in but adjacent to the video game industry--and suddenly I had a LOT of free time. I returned to RPG Make for the first time in 3-5 years. I was amazed at all of the stuff people had made, how pretty and impressive it was, how many people seemed to be (successfully? I'll find out!) monetizing and astonished that the "brand new" RPG Maker VX Ace I'd just started playing with last time I dipped a toe into this obsession was now seven years old (and technically obsolete). Now I have a LOT of free time and a comfortable roof over my dog and I's head, so I intend to mak hard and mak fast.

Likes:
* Writing, particularly for the stage, screen, or well...RPG Maker.
* Orchestrating Scores (note, I'm not a competent musician of any kind, I just really enjoy choosing which songs go where)
* Using eventing and scripting to cobble together interesting systems.
* Databasing in general.
* Making games in general.
* The RTP
* Sample maps
* Video games that use "real" music (i.e. popular and/or rock and/or rap and/or whatever music, with lyrics).
* Crows (duh)
* Doggoes

Dislikes:
* Mapping
* Mean jerks
* "Selling" games, i.e. marketing, promotion, etc.

...man this list is a taco stand so far gonna try and throw in some men.

That's about it. My only model for an RM site since 2010...no, earlier actually...was RMN's gamepage-based model. I have not used a forum-based model in an RM community for a long time (not since the days of GW, showing my age again, and actually yes, I remember RMN before it had game pages and I bear the scars of the great game page wars) and it will probably take some time to get my sealegs in that regard.

Hello and welcome! You are not the only one to start making games young, I used to use an old DOS game maker called DCPlay (I think that was the name of it) back in 1992 or so to crank out a couple of trash games. I say trash as I made them in a week or so and I was in junior high then, so you can guess how great these games were.
