Hi, Im new to the forum and came here in the hopes of picking a few brains and getting pointed in the right direction. I have been an avid live chat rp'er for nearly 15 yrs and played DDO for about 3yrs. Our online rp community has always had a simple website where we can post news on the forums, do some board rp and generally list in written form the setting, rules, races, stats etc. However its very non-interactive, items won in online DM'd quests can only be written on a persons character profile and are then only used when roleplaying in the chatroom via typing about it. I have always wanted to have a more interactive community site, not a full blown text based browser game or a 3d game like rpgmaker, but chunks of one, like being able to go into the 'woods' and kill a few orcs for some gold and exp then being able to head to the tavern to spend that gold and having your exp, hp and gold show up on your profile automatically without having to go in and 'edit profile' and do it yourself.. which also leads to some people giving themselves interest on that gold LOL...
I guess its very similar to a wordpress membership site that runs mycred, however based around rpg terms and instead of hooks to real world businesses it would run to virtual ones that it created.. I do not want any 3d aspect of traditional rpgs, nor do I want a mud.. I just want the profile-xp-gold-inventory functions linked and automatic dependent on the hooks.. like view a topic in the forum - 1 xp .. add a new friend 1 xp.. remove a friend -1 .. and a couple of areas where you can attack random creatures or mine for crystals... and virtual shops so you can buy a sword and have the icon show up in your inventory, so not 3d.. and not mud.. just some of the functions... hope that makes it more clear.
So my question is, is there any modules of rpg browser based engines that someone like myself could d/l and install on my site and edit without having to d/l the entire rpg engine? I do not code, but I do have a friend who does and who is willing to help set it up but doesnt know much about the rpg game engines etc .. so I figured I would come here and ask if what I was wanting even existed and do the research before I ask him to tackle anything.... but if its already out there, I hope to save him the headache lol..

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
