Hi folks,

I've been lurking and posting in other forums, but I thought it was past time to make a proper introduction. So, hello. :3 A little bit about me: I've been playing video games since I was about five, and my favorites tend to be RPGs. I've also discovered I have a soft spot for dating sims. I've more recently begun to check out and try to participate in the indie RPG community. While I do have a day job, I'm a writer/character developer by trade and have been taking fiction-related commissions for about ten years. I have also helped others edit their work, so if anyone's looking for someone in those capacities, please consider PMing me. I like to help people. I'm not too savvy in the tech department yet, but maybe with some time and guidance, I could get there one of these days. So, I hope this finds everyone well, and hoping everyone's having a good day!

I wish it did, honestly. I could make a decent living from it if writing was as easy as breathing. =P And hey, why not try and go for it? You'd be surprised at what you may accomplish. Even if they're small steps at a time, they'll lead somewhere. It's nice to meet you!

Thank you! I appreciate the welcome. No worries, fiction tends to be a little more difficult than it looks. People think I just sit around all day and make up lies. Which is true, to an extent, but the lies need to have some truth to them. =P

I usually write romantic fantasy personally, though I have stories in many genres including horror/gore. What about you?

I'm pretty flexible. I prefer fantasy (high or low, doesn't matter), although my latest slew of commissioners have me doing superhero fiction, which I don't mind. I enjoy dark fantasy and horror although I can't write the latter too well. Do you have a genre you prefer above the rest when it comes to writing?

Likewise! I don't have much of anything posted publically at the moment, but my personal page can be found here: http://bloodrose83.deviantart.com/ The only thing I have up for public viewing is rather old. Maybe someday when my inspiration for my own work comes back I'll have more up there. No worries. I understand how it feels to get 'critique' that doesn't do much other than point out flaws and then not say what the reader thinks could be done to fix them. Pet peeve of mine, so I try not to do it to anyone else.

My personal favorite in that vein are people who skim read something and then proceed to post long screeds about how they would have written it differently or what the character did didn't make sense to them. My response to said comments are a more polite version of, 'If you know more than I do about my own characters, here, you write it, since you know more.' That usually gives them pause for some myseterious reason.
