Hi, i'm laishiou, currently making a game that will probably never be released which focuses on questlines rather then one main quest that contributes to the story, the reason being i lack in artistic capabilities and don't trust in my ability to improve enough to polish the game in terms of art to a standard i'm happy with. With that being said, i'm happy to be here learning new things involved with developing an rpg every day from things that would be nice to include to how i can properly script certain events, I'm thankful this community exists because without help i would be creating a game thats way too limited in depth

@laishiou Welcome! I wish I would have joined the community a very long time ago, it is a lot more helpful posting and being a part of the community than trying to google/search everything yourself. Good luck with your project.

Best of luck with your game making! If the project you're working on is limited by your skillsets then why not try and open up a project recruitment thread to try and close those gaps?


Alternatively you can consider lowering your end-game standards or putting the project no hiatus until you get the resources you desire, Those last two aren't ideal, as they tend to cause projects to get abandoned long term more often than not. Just be careful about aiming for perfection from the beginning, you can always upgrade the resources down the line with a remake.

I wouldn't worry about having the perfect game the first time around. There is a ton of help here though, so there isn't anything wrong with having weaknesses. Good luck!
