We're visiting the future (or at least a super-advanced place) for this week's battler: it's the Parasite! This interesting insect was born in an evil scientist's lab, but that doesn't mean it's stuck there! With sharp claws and toxic ooze, this creature will make its home in any damp and dark location!

Happy game making! :rwink:

And now for something completely different! @The Stranger recently commissioned an umbrella-holding sprite template from me, and was kind enough to let me share it with everyone! So now you can have sprites out when it's raining that actually make sense (after all, how many people really just wander around in a downpour like it's nothing?). The template is broken into two parts so that it's easier to dress up the sprite; once your sprite's ready to go, just drop the umbrella overlay on top of it and bam, your sprite is shielded from the rain!

Happy game making! :rwink:

It's summer, so grab your board shorts and sunscreen before you visit the beach to face this week's battler: the Jellyfish! A strange creature that's neither jelly nor fish, don't think that it'd be easy to defeat. With toxic tentacles and a squishy body that absorbs physical attacks, this enemy will be a tough fight for any heroes who just wanted a vacation!

I'm curious, what enemy do you guys think embodies summer? This is totally not a ploy to get more battler ideas, no sirree.

Happy game making! :rwink:

An enemy that embodies summer? How about a sun elemental that wears sunglasses? There's also a lemonade elemental. It sits in a tall glass and folds its arms like a genie.

Summer usually means beaches, so another idea is an Angry Seagull wearing a sun hat and swimming trunks. Or an evil sand castle. Or an enchanted picnic with deadly dishes of destruction.

Those recolors give you alot of ideas for elemental jellies...Poison jelly, Electric Jelly, Swamp Jelly, Fire Jelly...So much jelly, and none of it tasty! I prefer jam anyhow.

Hmm, something that represents summer...Butterflies! Or maybe Cicadas. Funny how you hear them EVERYWHERE, yet can never see any of them...Oh, Fireflies too!

Just found your work, it's amazing, and just when I find your stuff, you post exactly what I need twice in a raw ! The parasite and this jelly are perfect, I was looking for creepy/organic/alienish monsters !

I find it ironic that you call them enemies, but you drew them as playable characters. XD

@Benny Jackdaw Since there are plugins out there to make the normally playable character battlers into enemies, then I might as well set up my battlers in the same way. Also means that people can make a full team of monsters if they want to. ;)
@radhubagas Nope, I want my resources to be as useful as possible to as many people as I can, so I won't be making sprites blatantly based on a AAA game's characters. If you really want someone to make it, then perhaps make a thread in Resource Requests?

What enemies make me think of summer? Fire- and desert-themed enemies. Crocodiles would do it, or any sort of fire, sand, or sun themed elemental. Mummies, for something a little more undead. Or maybe a phoenix or dragon. Possibly a shark, octopus, or sea serpent, if we're spending our summer at the beach.

Beautiful battlers as always, hiddenone!

Yes, a phoenix would be awesome, and everything about "fire/desert/water" theme

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
