Hello, I'm new to the forums and I have a question.

Today I bought the High Fantasy Mega Bundle for $49,99 and now I'm wondering how to get the side view to work. I tried using Yami Engine Symphony and Holder Battlers, but it only seems to work with Battle Sheets, which I cant find in the High Fantasy Mega Bundle. When I use the free Battle Sheets found on pioneervalleygames.com everything is working fine.

So what's the best way to have some nice side view fights with the High Fantasy Mega Bundle? Im clueless  >_>

Thanks for help.

If you want to use the non-holder style battler sheets, just don't use the Holder add-on for symphony... Plus I think you can still use normal char sheets as battlers even with Holder add-on as long as you use the tags included with the base symphony...

Hi, thanks for your answer even if I didnt understand everything.

as long as you use the tags included with the base symphony...
Which tags do you mean? Could you give me an example, please?

If I don't use the Holder add-on for symphony the normal char sheets keep walking all the time. This is no satisfying solution.

It's about notetags to be placed in the actor/skill noteboxes in the database.
If those boxes remain empty, Symphony uses some default animations and default settings.

But you can define your own animations and skill action sequences, and then tell the engine to do them by placing the correct notetags into the actor's noteboxes.

That is why Symphony has a rather large extra manual on symphony's blog instead of only the description in the script (as usual for most scripts) - there are too many options for the action sequences to be able to describe them in the comment lines of a script.

Hello and sorry if I'm annoying you, but I still dont know what to type in the actor notebox to get it to work.

I know how to set up the skills, but the actors and enemies are still not doing what I want them to do while they are not fighting.

If I type for example <holders_battler: $Elf_HF2_Female_3> into the notebox of an actor the wrong animations get started and the actor is partially under the ground.

And if I don't type anything into the notebox of the actor, the actor keeps walking while he is not fighting. I just want him to stand still while he is inactive.

I've been through with the large extra manual on symphony's, but I didn't find a solution.

How can I solve this problem?

what do you mean by "wrong animation got started"? what animation should start and which animation did you want to start?

Give us a screenshot if what is displayed and tell us where that is wrong.

And please link to all scripts you're using, it might be an incompatibility between scripts.

Here is what I did now:

1. Created a new project

2. Copied Yami Engine Symphony - Battle Symphony (https://gist.github.com/suppayami/8526210) and pasted it in the script material section.

3. Copied Yami Engine Symphony - Add-on: Holder Battlers (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/38072264/Symphony/Add-on/Holder-Battlers.txt) and pasted it in the script material section below Yami Engine Symphony - Battle Symphony.

4. Set up the walking graphic $Elf_HF2_Male_2 (found in the High Fantasy Mega Bundle) to the actor Eric.

5. Set up a Face graphic for Eric.

6. Put this <holders_battler: $Elf_HF2_Male_2> into the note field of the actor Eric.

7. Saved the project.

8. Started a test fight and here is what my actor looks like:

9. Removed <holders_battler: $Elf_HF2_Male_2> from the note field.

10. Saved the project.

11. Started a test fight and now the actor is just walking normally, but I want him to stand still while he is inactive like in the screenshots found on http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/a/graphics/high-fantasy-resource-pack

I told you, don't use the holder tags, because those are for Holder's Style Battler Sheets... AFAIK Symphony has other tags for the RTP style character sheets...

as for standing still, hmmmm... IDK how you'd go with that...

PS: I looked at the screenshots, there's no standing "still" actor in there... only enemies that use the normal battler style for Ace...

I mean the Screenshots number 3 and 22. It looks like the actors are standing still.

Well, haven't you got any idea for me, how to make the actors and enemies look good in a side view battle, since I don't have battle sheets for them. I prefer using Engine Symphony - Battle Symphony.

With the free ressources (battle sheets) found on pioneervalleygames.com it looks really great. But what can I do with the character sprites from the High Fantasy Mega Bundle, if I want to use a side view in battles?

ah I must have missed that screenie. But really, we can't even be sure if that is an actor standing still since it was just a screenshot...

though maybe there's a tag on symphony for that, just check the available tags...

Thats true.

Well, I still cant find any symphony tags for that, but it doesnt matter now, because I just bought High Fantasy Main Party Pack I+II and Monsters Legacy I and got lots of really nice battle sheets. Awesome ressource packs. Hope there will be more soon.

The actors without battlesheets will be used for anything else now.

Thanks for your help anyways.

oh wait, what if there's a row that ur not using, just replace that row with copies of the static battler, then use that row for the idle tag?
