I recently bought nearly all the high fantasy DLCs.

Now I'm trying to figure out how to do the tilesets for the Second resource pack. As there are 41 tileset images you do HAVE to make multiple tilesets, but I'm not good at synergy and was wondering if someone could help me figure out where to what for certain reasons? As the read me doesn't specify the recommended way to use the tilesets.

I was thinking 4 tile sets.

EDIT: I got an answer through PM. You can close this thread.

The problem is that you need different combinations of the tilesheets, because most maps will probably need tiles from several different tilesheets to be made.

I don't know which part of the HF Tilesheets are in the second pack (I've everything from PVG mixed), but you'll probably need a minimum of 10 tilesets, and each tilesheet in different combinations used several times, depending on what kind of map you want to do.

Is there an easy way to do this? Because I won;t be able to do it by eye. I will need a grid... So to speak.

you can do it without editing the tilesheets, but then you need to make tilesets based on your map.

For example, in the total of all HF-Pack so far there are five tilesheets with furniture for "indoors" - and if you want to make some castle halls, then none of those tilesheets contain statues or similiar decorations.

Now, you decide what kind of map you want to make. If you want to make an inn for example, you won't need any statues, but different beds and tables and food on the map, so you might make a tileset with HF1_indoors2, HF1_indoors3, HF2_indoors2 and TD_Groupings - that will give you all the beds and most of the furniture and flasks for the tables.

A tileset for soldier barracks on the other hand would need HF1_indoors1 and HF2_indoors1 as they contain weapons and equipments, but only one of the Tilesheets with beds (all soldiers get the same furniture, no need for differently priced rooms)...

And so on, selecting the tilesheets depending on what tiles you need for the current map.

Oooohhhh I see what you mean. I thought you meant totally cutting up all the sheets and fix them together in all cases. I know in some cases you meant that. I think? Lol. Thanks for the info.

Yes, as I said in the PM in some cases it's better to cut and rearrange tilesheets - for example, several of the HF Tilesheets contain books and furniture for libraries, but at the same time also beds or objects that are not for a library - so rearranging them would reduce the number of tilesheets for a library, allowing better organisation if you plan (like I do) a game that will contain several of those maps.
But that is advanced tileset creation, it isn't neccessary if you can work around that by selecting the tilesheets...

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
