I'm trying to make an attack animation that looks like an animated cutscene, filling up a large portion of the screen, like a cutscene in a CDI game. I can do this by making the frames really small and stretching them out, but is there a better way? Can I give the game animations that fill the whole screen without them being super blurry and compressed? Maybe using some plugin?

it depends on what exactly you want, there are several ways to do this - each with its own advantages and disadvantages. And you didn't give enough details to do more than guess what is best for your case.

for cutscenes I wouldn't bother with animations at all, but either use a common event with a sequence of show picture, or make the scene in a video editor and only play movie in the RM.

And that are only two of half a dozen possibilities.
But you need to give more details before we can give better help.

I want to have an attack whose animation displays a scene, like you're looking through a window into a movie scene. I actually managed to get the effect just now by separating each frame into multiple animation cells and painstakingly arranging them next to each other, but I don't wanna have to do that every time.
Here's a gif of the animation. It shows the player character hold up a flamethrower and shoot it:

as said, a common event with show pictures instead of an animation.
and for timing use action sequences from yanfly as to when to call the plugin

attack is a skill like any other, so of course it can activate a common event.
main problem is only that the attack skill is by default used in a lot of places, and you either have to remove it from every enemy action pattern or make sure that the common event works for every use of the attack skill.
