Hello, I'm using the himeworks pre-title event plugin to make my own custom title screen through events. However, I've been trying to create a script call where it allows me to change the MapID used for the plugin.

I am not very familiar with coding, please help.

when do you want to execute that script call?
It might be much easier to simply check on a switch first thing on the pretitle map and transfer the player to a different map if that switch is ON.

Thank you for replying.

I want to execute it depending on the players actions (I'm setting the pre Title event as the title screen, I want changes to happen to the title screen.)

I tried using switches but it didn't work as planned. But I thought creating a script call that simply changes the mapID would be better to avoid a long switch script event.

I've worked with java before on how to create a function script but I'm not sure if it's the game with javascript.

there are two problems with this, which is why I asked for details.

first problem is that "new game" initialises the switches, so they are not defined before it - and the title screen is before it.
the second problem is that the same counts for the script data itself, which means that any change by script command will also be ignored on next gamestart.

In your case you'll need a script modification that has the multiple screens/pictures as default and switches based on setting outside the game as well as giving the game the options to change those settings. I can't think on any other way to get the title react in that way.

Look up plugins that allow you to work with meta data - that's saving variables and such outside of the game, outside of saves. You might be able to set up what you want using that.
