RPG Maker Forums

So for my 100th post I wanted to share something special with you guys. I hope that you enjoy it:

If you've been keeping an eye on my posts you'd notice that I use a lot of Extra Credits' videos as explanations or advice. That is because I agree with them on a lot of things.

Recently they've posted a very interesting video that I want to share with you:

The video is about history and how it's portrayed in video games. I'd like you to watch the video and then think of the statement at the end of the video: That RPGs are a very good medium for doing historic games as discussed in the video. I'd like to hear your opinions on the video and the topic discussed in it.

Some other questions you could also answer if you want to:

  • Would you make an historic game/RPG?
  • Do you think there are any good historic RPGs?
  • Should history be taught by games?
  • Do you like historic games?
I hope you guys enjoyed the video.

Nuke out!

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
