Hello!


I'm kind of new to RPG Maker but I just bought the MV version of the game and I'm planning on making a game. I'm sure it'll take over a year since I don't know much about it yet. :x I've been fumbling around with it though and learning a lot over these past few days.


I hope I can learn a lot from this community and hopefully be able to provide some kind of help too~

Remember to always keep backups of ANYTHING you would mind losing, it is all too easy to accidentally delete or corrupt your files, and computer crashes can lose you a whole lot more. Another good idea is to always keep a second project that is basically pointless to try out new stuff in so you don't risk messing up your main project while experimenting.

New in the RPG Maker boat, too, and like you I'm using MV for a paddle. I've actually learned a lot just fiddling around with new things and experimenting in test maps the past few days, it's very rewarding to work out how to do things on your own. Good luck and enjoy yourself working things out, and good luck with your game!

Right now, I'm mostly just exploring the engine and seeing what I can actually do with it. I already have a back up of the current project I'm working on. I also have a file with all the default files and added content so I don't have to start from scratch every time I make a new project.


The starting point post is really useful. I'll definitely be going through it this weekend.


I'm not making a commerical game but I do plan on getting some custom sprites and stuff made once I figure all of this out.
