So Microsoft just demoed architects designing holographic buildings around themselves, controlling real robots with a holographic interface, holographic pets, and decorating your bedroom with holographic posters, windows, and apps.

And Unity just announced that they're going to support HoloLens.

So which one of you is going to be the first person to make a starship simulator game with Hololens and when can I give you my money?

Seriously, though, if you told child me that I would live to see a time that anyone can design holographic games that interact with the real world, I wouldn't believe you. What kind of cool games are we going to see? What kind do you want to make?

Oh man, this is amazing. I know it's in a predefined environment that was adapted and rehearsed like 172 times to make sure it's smooth, but still, I'm excited.

When do we get the mechs? I've also always found FTL to be pretty cool, ETA 2021? Just kidding, but seriously, I'm just so excited for the future and I'm so glad that I'm here... who knows, maybe the internet is wrong and there will be more to do than browse dank memes? I definitely wouldn't mind exploring the galaxy.

Eh, carried away as usual. OT: games... to be honest I have a feeling that something like Lasertag / paintball with holographic scifi armor + particle effects + weapon models covering the mundane stuff would be one of the coolest things ever. Normal sports are occasionally pretty cool, but add some stuff like that and it would be much, much more interesting - at least for a geek like me ;) Also, card games with animated monsters that come out when you play them. Please.

I can't imagine normal video games working too well though... it's still playing on a screen, just that the screen is in the air. I'm guessing that for 1st person games Oculus Rift will always be much better. I can't imagine this working for anything that requires tight controls either as it's bound to be really annoying. For me it seems like more of a visual enhancement.

As to what we're going to see a lot of? Well... not to be vulgar, but I think that Mr. Bean has you covered, ''if you know what I mean''... I'm also guessing that there will be a lot of gimmics like 'basketball' that is bound to get boring like the wii / kinect motion controls did.

That said, excited as all hell for it.

They actually demonstrated doing just that at //BUILD today. Possibility? It's already done. Who needs a real pet when you can have a holographic one that never gets sick or hurt, never needs food, and can be customized dynamically?

Exactly ;~;

What'll happen to all the real ones?

Why do we need real ones? Is there anything that's intrinsically more valuable about reality?

Real ones are alive too, and not only that - pet shelters would become full to bursting, and no better condition - especially with overcrowding and lack of funding! ;~;

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
