Just thought I'd take the time to introduce myself to everyone here. I've been a sporadic contributor to the RM site 'Creation Asylum', mainly with very brief and very easy eventing systems and help, but I never really did enough on RM to get good at it. I dabbled in XP for a while, but never managed to finish a major game... If I'm honest, I've never really gotten past the "average" level with my only finished project being a game I made for my friend. It was a simple 5 minute game made in the space of 4 weeks and wasn't any good, but it was the thing that made me decide to become a part of a community. It still holds a special place in my heart. Anyway, I kinda dropped away from it all, only lurking around various forums to either get scripts or graphics which mostly went unused.
After quite a long hiatus due to school and being intimidated by not only how good the other games were but how much time and effort had gone into them, I finally stumbled upon the Japanese trial for Ace. I was amazed and downloaded right away. Ever since then, pretty much all of my time has been making very, VERY small projects just to learn in's and out's given it's limitations. After also Playing Princess Princess by Ness, my vigour was renewed and I realised why I loved RM in the first place... and now that school isn't that much of a hassle for me anymore, it being my last year, my fiddling with the trial to grow my skills and a RM that is painfully simple, I figured that I should get back into the scene. I decided to take the chance to pre-order (something I missed with XP as VX was already out way after I discovered it) and now, here I am!
So, that's my story if you will... I know, I know, no-one needs to know that but I think a story about a guy who fell out of love with RM only to have that passion rekindled by Ace is a great story! One maybe even worthy of committing to game form! But I really hope that this time, I can be more active and maybe even finally beat my tendency to procrastinate and actually get a proper game done, haha... Well, that's enough of me, I've rambled and bored you guys enough, so I guess I'll leave you with a big "See you guys soon!" because I assure you, you'll be seeing plenty of me.
For a tl; dr version: I used be part of an RM community, stopped and now I'm back. Standard stuff, really.
...I also really like to eat pie. And small children. But mostly pie.
