Hi everyone!
I'd like to introduce my new game for PC, “Home: A Quarantine Story.” It’s the story of a young woman who visits her family for the first time in four years, accidentally infects them with COVID-19—and then finds herself trapped there.

Like To the Moon or Gone Home, the game has no combat or puzzles. Instead, the player explores her family home, gets to know her family members, and watches old tensions unfold. The story is built on relatable, real-world themes, and (drawing from my background as a professional novelist) makes a heavy use of written text as you examine everyday objects, with a style influenced by literary fiction. Altogether, the game should take two or three hours to complete.
This is my second game after The Pale City, a dark fantasy RPG that came out in early 2020. I had planned not to make another game for years, but I became absolutely consumed with this project after the pandemic began, and I'm glad I followed it through to the end. I decided on a free release because it doesn't fit into a clear commercial niche--there's no genre on Steam to appropriately describe it. But I'd be incredibly grateful to anyone who downloaded or left a review, as I'm really hoping that a game like this has a place in the world after all.
Here's the game's Steam page, which has more information, trailer, screenshots, etc:
Or, alternatively, the game is also available on RMN:

Thanks so much to anyone who checks the game out!
Kyle
