Hopeless boss battle

How do you make a hopeless boss battle?  I haven't attempted this in a previous RPG Maker yet.

Hopeless in what way? Like...a boss battle that is designed to be impossible to win in order to progress the story? Or a boss battle that is just so difficult, it makes players feel hopeless to win?

Doesn't MV have a "Continue when loser" checkbox for Battle Processing fights? (like the other engines)

Check to see if it does, that's how you do it.

It does have a similar box. I think now it is called "can lose". At first it threw me off because I do think it is worded differently. By default if you add a battle event it won't have a lose branch. But it is certainly doable in MV if you set it as a can lose.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
