If you are regularly involved in the anime/manga multiverse you probably know what these bellow are for, to represent action moments, or intense or even comedic. The question: Is there any official term for these types of background? I've only read "speed lines background", but I can't guarantee that's official.

Few other examples of use of these backgrounds I can show:

speed lines is the name I heard for that technique as well.

technically you could call it a static parallax, but since that has to do with the original meaning of "Parallax" and absolutely nothing to do with parallax mapping (which is named for using the parallax slot for something else/for mapping) it would only get people confused around here.

When I Google "speed lines" I find articles on Wikipedia and tutorials from Adobe, so I'm not sure why you wouldn't think that's the correct term

They're called motion lines or speed lines
Used in the background they emphasize either high speed overall movement they can also be used on a focal point to focus the action on that area.

The difference between these and movement lines or motion blur is that the latter applies to the character itself, not the background.

Here you can observe a focal point motion line in conjunction with motion blur applied to the character's arm to better describe the trajectory of the movement to the reader.

Hope this helps :kaohi:

Given that there is a history in manipulation of search results from certain search engines, I prefer to consult and confirm with more experienced users, specially when I find out the name of a concept for the first time.
Edit: Changed "found out" to "find out"

I didn't mean renaming Web pages. I meant blacklisting certain web pages to not appear when searching for something specific.

Update: Coworker sabotaged the truck's mirrors by applying a threadlocking compound to the bolts used to adjust the mirrors. Now NO ONE can adjust them. So I filed a legit report of sabotage of equipment to leadership and declared that I cannot safely operate the vehicle if I can't see what needs to be seen. So the truck has to go to the shop for repair, and we need a substitute vehicle. Nice work, dude :p
