Hi! So I'm very very new to this. Been messing around for about 2 weeks with the engine, and I'm having a blast. The other day I was trying to implement a couple of songs to the engine trying to see how implementing music from the outside would work. I didn't have any issues there, but I found a folder named "DLC" that has A TON of assets and tiles, and music, and SE and what not, that's not available right from the get go. So... How can I enable this?

I'm currently running RPGMMV on OSX 10.13

The folder can be found while browsing the "Local Files" on steam for it and I just would love to learn how to implement that. Tried finding it in the "Database" but for some reason the DLC folder and it's contents is not an option in the Database.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

first step is to go to the resource manager, it even has a button "DLC" that opens directly into that folder.

then you can choose which of those files to add to the current project - they are not automatically added because that would only use up space if you don't use them.

After they are added to the current project (make sure they go into the correct folders in the resourcemanager) you can use them as any other resources, but of course need to configure the use in the database depending on what you added.

Okay got to the resource manager, found the DLC link, is there a way to add an entire folder? Or will I have to add thing by thing?

through the resource manager it's file by file - intentionally, because if you mess this up it can create a lot of problems as each file needs to go into the correct folders.

if you know what goes where, you can open both the project folder and the DLC folder in the operating system and copy directly - that can be anything at once, but you're responsible that everything goes where it needs to.
And make sure to copy, not move - each project has its own set of resources for reasons, and if you move them out of their original folders (there are a few more than just DLC) then you have to search for them to get everything right again...

I understand. Project managing is not new to me. Working as a sound designer you know the importance of tabs and folders. SPECIALLY for projects like these. So just to get things straight:

Every time I create a new project, all the base assets are copied into a new folder that will be my main folder for the project. IF I want to use DLC and or external things I have to copy them into the Current Project's MAIN folder, but not on the CORE folder of the assets, right? Now... is there a way for me to select Which assets I can load from the get go? Like when selecting a new project can I just ditch all the Fantasy Forest assets if my game is never going to have a forest? Or does the game automatically loads all the Core elements and then you have to hand pick what you want and what you don't want?

To do that, just make a "base project" that has the "base resources" that you want to use. Then everytime you make a new project, you just copy-paste this base project instead of hitting New Project via the engine.

Now if your projects will have different base resources, then sadly, no you cant pick.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
