I have followed this tutorial.

It basically has the clock setup in a manner that will suit my game nearly perfect except for 2 things.

The main one being i want the clock displayed as an overlay in the top right.
His is set as a called on key item.

The other option, i was hoping to have the months set up to display a word rather then a numerical value.
I want it to display a season rather then a months number.

My game in the end will be in the same vein as harvest moon/ stardew valley.

I would prefer a method thats in engine rather then need to call on a plugin.

Thank you.

If you want to achieve clock like in Harvest Moon series which is part of the hud then I would recommend Orange system: OrangeHud, OrangeHudClock, OrangeTimeSystem by @Hudell .

Everything you need to work with, is listed under spriteTimer.update

Follow the code, and you'll find the functions.
It's literally 3 functions. You can't get lost.

I have the files for it, but was hoping to achieve it in engine.
I was trying to avoid needing to use plugins as it looks pretty complicated.
I may need to see if i can find a tutorial on using orange

i am not sure what that is, is that in engine or under orange?

UPDATE:

I tried playing with orange but i got no idea what i am doing, and i cannot seem to find any guides for it.

ant help would be invaluable.

in the base code, the base sprite timer declaration.
if you want to modify them, rewrite those, either directly or through a plugin.

should be rpg_objects, or rpg_sprites.
find the one that says gameTimer, that's the clock itself.
somewhere around there, there should be a call to spriteTimer, or something like it, that's the graphic.
at every frame the clock is updated, and the sprite is refreshed based on what the clock's values are.

Hmm i'm not sure if this will do what i need it too,
I need something that tracks time of day as well as day and month and year.

I don't think the time without some serious work will achieve what i need it to.

Unless there is an easy way for it to call on the variables and display them, i may end up needing to use a plugin.

and i already looked at orange and i got no idea how it works.

Thanks for pointing the time out tho.

I use mog hunter time system and moghunter time hud. It also sets the ID variables for hour, time, day etc and will save u days worth of coding. Easy to use too

it just runs, and i dont get how or how it works, beyond some switch and var entries.

took me a while too. i just used google translate to get an understanding. but pretty much if u read the part of english. it tells u what times are set. and it says hour, date, etc ID... the numbers there are the set variables, so for example, HOUR ID is 21(so variable 10 holds what hour it is), so if u want an event to happen at lets say 8pm, just get another event to check Variable 10 = 8.

its the same with switch ID's... what i did is copy and enter the switch ID's... so for example, it says switch 21 = dawn... so i go into my switches and write "Dawn" so i know what that switch is used for.
1st pic is the plugin.
2.d pic is my list of switches.

plus also load Timesystem AND timesystem HUD. the hud makes it easier to understand.
if u have any troubles just ask. ive been using it and altering it quite abit

I also wanted to say that my bro brought back nostalgia and got me a GBA SP for my birthday! Ah, the memories of Pokémon Sapphire and LeafGreen! It came in a gray shell but he ordered a red one so it'd look like the one I had as a kid. It looks brand new!
