How can I keep an event gone?

I'm having a problem where there's a hidden item in a hole in the floor in my main characters room, but if you take it, leave the room and come back, and examine the hole again you can get the item again. Is there any way I can fix this? (I've also had this problem with a guy who leaves the map when you talk to him, but if you enter a house and come back he respawns.) How can I fix this problem without creating a whole new map of his room?

Use a blank second page that uses a self switch as a condition, then at the end of the first page, set the self switch to ON

Erase Event only gets rid of it for the rest of the time you're on the map. When you leave the map and return, it gets loaded again, just like all the other events. It does not "erase" it for the remainder of the game.


To make a PERMANENT change to an event, you need to use switches, self switches, variables, etc, and multiple event pages with conditions.
