A rather inelegant solution would be have the Geomancy skill activate a "geomancy" common event with conditional branches that branch into force actions of the skill you want it to turn into. Wouldn't even need a script.FF5 Geomancer casts an ability in-battle called Geomancy that changes animation, damage, element and effect depending on what overworld map tile you're standing on.
