I was intrested in video game development, doing a quick research on the internet, I came across RPG Maker MV, It advertise being user friendly and no programming needed. So I decided to buy RPG Maker MV during a steam sale.

It was a cold winter night. I was sitting at my desk, exploring steam. That's when it happened... I found Unity.
My creativity flowed and I thought: What if I could turn that story I'm writing into a game?

I started to search for softwares that would allow me to create a game and found RPG Maker Vx Ace. Tried the trial version and loved it.
Then in the Xmas my husband offered me the real deal! And it's been an adventure ever since!

When I was 11, I discovered VX on YouTube/RPG RPG Revolution and decided to test it out. Made a really, really basic "comedy" (*shiver*) game and showed it off to my best friend who just said it looked "interesting...". Been using the software more or less ever since and nearly a decade later, I still use it. I technically used the software before that, as I bought RPG Maker on the PS2 in 4th or 5th grade but I never really used it much.
Still haven't finished a single game...go me.:aswt2:

When I was 13 (I'm now 23, btw), I used to play lots and lots of RPG games xD From my PS1, GBA up ti'll PS2. xD I then discovered a site (It was RPG revolution I believe) that had lots of RPG maker games made by talented users. That time, I really wasn't very interested in RPG-making cause all I did was search for games there that I can play on my free time. I remembered lots of originals there like "Anastasia" the horror game and that "Legend of *something*" That had really amazing graphics and gameplay (I can still remember the main character's name, it was Marjan. The story had something to do with being teleported to a different dimension.)

It was only until I reached 21 that I decided to try my hand on RPG-maker. xD I was just very curious on how it works cause at first I thought you'd need to be an extremely skilled coder to make a simple game, but I then realized after downloading my first RPG-maker program (RM2k3) That it was actually friendly to newbies. :D Here I am now, loving the RPG-maker scene and enjoying the games that many people create with it. :)

Maaaany yeaaaaars agoooo, back when the stars were still forming...

Ok, yeah. Not quite that long ago. When I was a kid, around 6-7 years old or so, I learned BASIC, because I thought it was fun to just make little games. Sometime in the mid 90s I found a program called Adventure Creation Kit and used it a bit. I was also super into the rom translation scene, and discovered Super Dante RPG Tsukuru for the Super Famicom, which had been translated by a romhacking group.

From there I played the same groups translation of Super Dante II, then found RPG Maker 95 somewhere around 20 years ago.

So yeah.

Back when the dinosaurs roamed, I got my hands on a computer...

Ok, not quite that far back, but back in the early 90's my parents got me this shareware game making program where I could make Ultima 1 - 3 type games. Made a couple little games with it (most were made in a week, so you can guess the quality of them), then in 1993 I got Unlimited Adventures and made a few D and D modules with that. Still have them in a zip file on my HD actually, somewhere.

But, I wanted to make a game outside the limits of those engines, and neither could be modded (at that point in time), so I learned to code in C by *ahem* 'borrowing' my father's C book during Spring Break and working through it (I was bored and in a town with 257 people and I joke they counted the cows to get to that number). Let's just say he got a shock when he came looking for it on Friday and I was on Chapter 38 as boredom + determined kid = you get really far in a week. But, he bought me a compiler and more books for programming so I went ahead and coded in C. Managed to make a full game engine in C, with ASCII graphics. But I had no game, just the engine. Then school and college came along and I stopped for a long time due to RL getting busy. Though I kept writing my story as free time allowed, just in case.

Move to 2013, I saw RPGMaker on Steam, decided to buy it and try it. Didn't go far though until the 2014 IGMC, and been using it ever since.

I learned BASIC
Was that GWBasic, QBasic or Visual Basic?
I saw (and I think I tried once) RPG Maker for playstation, but I didn't get into making games with RPG Maker until 2015. I bought a game on steam and realized it was made with the software RPG Maker VX Ace. So when it went on sale I bought it. But I also was making games (from code in a book) back in the mid 80's. Star wars. It didn't work and I changed the code to make it work, but then it was very easy to win. That was GWBasic on a Radio Shack TRS80 black and white monitor with a 4k processor and I think 32k of ram. (it used a magnetic cassette tape to load code). Been interested in computers and video games ever since.

I learned using qbasic/quickbasic (Mostly used quickbasic since it has the compiler).

I kinda just stumbled upon vx ace during the steam christmas sale in 2013. Bought it on the cheap and had a lot of fun making awful games with my friends.

I had heard of RPG maker through the hype that To The Moon had created a fair while back. I hadn't thought about it as something viable though, because I had messed with Visionaire Studio and hated it and painted most "beginner" game engines with the same brush. However, the name kept popping up so I decided to watch some tutorials. I had watched nearly a whole tutorial series before deciding it was worth buying. Guess now I can finally make a game lol.

I started with Playstation back in the day as well, but bought MV and loved it! I'm addicted and can't stop playing with it. It's really neat. I can't wait to finish my project with my team.

Whenever I go to bed, I end up thinking about a story element or character in the project I am developing. I really wanted to develop it and release it so I searched for engines to be able to realize that goal. RPGmaker MV seems to be able to fit it for now, with a few changes and fixes I might be able to work on my project.

I got into RPG Maker by watching Manlybadasshero, a Youtuber who plays a lot of RPG Maker games, especially horror ones. I really wanted to make my own RPG horror game, so I downloaded the free lite version of RPG Maker VX Ace to practice. I instantly fell in love. My first game was a generic, almost-impossible-to-beat fantasy game but I loved it, and I had so much fun making it. When I finally got the full version I actually cried a little, because now I had all this creative freedom and I could bring to life so many of my stories.

One day I played a game made by Rebel, a Czech game maker. Since there was an email address, I asked how could I make a game like that. He told me to try RPG maker 2k/2k3/XP and sent me a link to the forum. It was years ago, back in 2009, and the only way for me to get an RPG maker was to pirate it.
Eventually I stopped being active, because the Czech community hated me. So I went on... And previous year I had an idea for a game, so I took a look at RPG maker again. Downloaded 2003, but it wasn't working on windows 10, so I searched... And saw RPG maker MV. Since it was on sale, I bought it. And then I searched for a community, because the Czech one is completely dead. So here I was.
Not too long after that I bought 2003 on steam, because I wanted that music. I was very surprised to see the steam version work, but I would never use it again... Because due to using MV I have grown to dislike the 320x240 resolution 2k3 games have.

I first stumbled across RPG Maker 95 when I was about 9, so roughly 1999. My older brother had a friend at intermediate who was into computers and he introduced us to it. Not long after, RPG Maker 2000 and its translation came out, so we downloaded that as well and made small, silly little games based on stories we used to make up with our friends. I remember not knowing how switches worked, so if we wanted to change something on the map, we copied the whole map, changed it as necessary and then transferred the player to it.

The rest is history, really. I've been dabbling in RPG Maker for almost 20 years, and I've had every version of it.

I picked up RPGMaker for the Ps1 when it first came out and joined an RPGmaker community called the RPGMaker Pavilion. It gave me an incentive to try and create an RPG. The memory restrictions, however, were too great and so, I could not make the game I really wanted. We shared those games via Dex Drive and ps1 memory cards. I tried making an episodic game series due to the memory constraints, which I called Demon Hunter Monoko, a screen of which is my profile picture. I also dabbled a little in some of the other PlayStation RPG makers and picked up Ace over time. I ended up picking up MV off a discounted Humble Bundle deal (basically got it for 20 bucks) and so far it has kept me quite intrigued. That may be because of this site though, once again finding a place I may be able to share created games again.

One day I came home from school and I remember googling "how to make an rpg" and well, here I am! I love the old classic final fantasy games and I thought to myself, what if I could make something big like this? I bought the software off steam since I noticed that its constantly having sales. A perfect opportunity for me!
