How do I alter character movement frequency?

I understand you can alter an event's movement frequency and speed, but is it also possible to change your character's own movement speed and frequency during gameplay?

I've always wanted to have that feeling of having to drag the character along the map, instead of just seeing your character sprite breeze through the entire world map in seconds cause it's too fast (especially when dashing.) However I'm quite unsure as to how to go about doing that.

I'm also quite new at RPG-making, so I need help!

RMMV
You can use a Set Move Route command to change the player's speed and frequency, but they (or at least speed) will be reset after getting off a vehicle, unless you have a script mod.

Also, if dashing is a concern on your world map, you can disable it on a map-by-map basis in your Map Edit options. (Right click on your map in the menu on the left hand side, hit Edit, and you should see the toggle there.)

I don't want to disable dashing, I only want to make movement a bit slower. Like how events would move at x2 Slower pace.

How do I go about setting the character's speed and frequency via Set Move Route? I couldn't find where to set the command for my main character, only for the events...

Here's a picture of both the event page and the actual command box for what you're looking for. Make sure you put it in Autorun, and erase the event after it plays. This will change your player's speed until you change it back with another command to return it to normal the same way (With a different number).

Ohhhh I was looking elsewhere, like I thought there was a panel or a window somewhere specifically for the main character. I totally forgot there was an option for the character in the Set Move Route command.

I don't think I'll be using any vehicles for my project, so this will do. Thanks again!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
