So I plan on using a different font for my game, But i have no idea how to do that so:

-How do i changed the font for RPG maker VX Ace

-how that would effect things like the text-codes (EX: \n[1] , /{, /v[1], /i[1] stuff like that.)

This dumb dumb here doesn't know how to script lol X'P

I've moved this thread to Ace Support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Changing a font doesn’t require a script. You need to have the font in the font folder and there is something in an (I believe) .ini file you need to change. But it’s been a long time and I don’t remember exactly and I can’t get on my computer at the moment. But a script is not needed.

News to me. I'm not aware of an ini file that you would need to change.
I've only seen a font change by code in the script editor.
But it's very easy, you just have to know the format.
How do i changed the font for RPG maker VX Ace
Ruby:
Font.default_name = ["Font1", "Font2", "Font3", "Font4"]

The part that some people get wrong is the font name.
If you have windows 10 then just double click on the font ttf file and a window pops up with the font information. At the top left is the name of the font. THAT's the name you have to use. The file name doesn't mean anything. e.g. this_is_my_font.ttf -> Font name: My Font
Font.default_name = ["My Font"]

The order of the fonts listed matter in the fact that if the system running the game doesn't have the font listed first (Font1), then it searches for the next one (Font2) etc.

Also take note to change the size depending on how your font looks in game.
Ruby:
Font.default_size = 22

Place these lines in a script slot below materials and above main.

I added the def and end to it, as well as a semicolon, is this okay?
No. No def. Just the Font line.
Remember to change the font name. There is no font called Font1.
There is a tutorial on using scripts that may help you understand more of the editor. Follow the links in my signature block.

ok I've gotten rid of the def, and gave the first font1 a the name of a font.(I'll do for the rest of the fonts if necessary)

get rid of the semicolon too?

You only need to add other font names if you wish to have others used. But it becomes complicated to change without a script. And there are scripts out there that can easily change the font.
You should have it as Font.default_name = ["Small Fonts"]

I never put a semicolon in the code, you added it, so take it out.

OK I took it out! here is how it looks now

The game loads, but it tends to use Arial Font? i think. Is this what you were referring to when you said
"if the system running the game doesn't have the font listed first (Font1)"
I also used "Font.default_name = ["Small Fonts"]" alone like you said, but the font still looks like this
Capture1.PNG
How would I fix this?

My game file doesn't have a font folder, look

Small Font is the font i wish to use
Capture2.PNG
do you think its is possible? It doesn't have an italic, or bold variant to it like most the other fonts, does that matter here?

Then you simple make one... .
Put the font inside the folder

You only need them if you want to use them.
*from yanfly core script
Font.default_italic = false
Ok I've created "Fonts" folder here:
Capture2.PNG
and in this folder I have this font called "Yoster Island"
Capture2.PNG

Here is how the script looks so far:
Capture3.PNG
Is there a specific way the fonts should be organized in the "Fonts" folder? The game is still using that other font i showed you earlier for some reason

The font looks like it;s called Yoster Island. You have YosterIsland. You missed the space.
Also have the fonts in the Fonts folder not a subfolder in fonts folder.

For a long time I always consider XP soundtracks as the best one.
Just listened to some of MZ tracks from the free version.
It's... Quite mindblowing. xD
Only listened to the battles, towns, and fields.
But I'm sure the rest are equally good. :D
