How do I get a semi-transparent tile not to overlay on top of everything else?

So I have this custom tileset, which includes a semi-transparent black square (used to create shadows). It works well in the editor (pictured on the left)

But when I play the game it just puts itself on the top layer (Pictured on the right).
The shadow is marked with a star in the tileset, so that players can walk under it. Is there anyway to make it so that the shadow still goes over the players but not over the cliff?

Which section did you put the tile in your tileset?

Currently the ground is on A5 and the shadows (as well as everything else) is on section B.

Try drawing the shadow first and then the cliff on top of it. I know that’s not an ideal way to draw a map but I think that will fix it.

I miss misread your post. Try moving your shadows to A5 first and if that doesn’t work try drawing the shadow first.

The shadow is drawn first. You can see it in the left image. (The one taken in the editor)
Moving it to A5 will not allow me to place anything under it, as the moment I put it down the grass or whatever may be beneath disappears.

Hmm not sure what’s going on. Post a picture of your tileset in the database.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
