How do I make enemies that kill the rest of the enemies when they die?

I feel like this is an embarrassingly noob question, but still.

I have a boss fight against a dragon, which is much harder than it sounds because he's actually four blokes - Arumvorax the Red (the head), Squishy Belly, Hot Wings and Red Tail.

Naturally, when you kill the head (good luck with that, it has absurdly high defense and HP) or the body I intend for it to kill the rest of him. The tail and wings, meanwhile, heal.

It's a neat encounter and it otherwise works mechanically, but in playtesting (through the Test Encounter button on the Troops page) I cannot get the "if this Enemy dies, kill the rest of the enemy encounter" code to work. I also can't get the boss music to play instead of the default music using the Troops playtest button.

What exactly am I doing wrong here?

You need to turn BGM on manually if you do not have it set as your default.
Usually with Boss Fights, you use the "Change Battle BGM" before the boss fight happens and then change it back to normal after fight. During playtest, you'll want to use Play BGM as playtest will only play the default BGM unless instructed not to.

As far as the head, chest, etc, you'll need to make the troop event page's condition that only works if the specified enemy's HP reaches 0%. So it's look something like this:

To do the body as well, you'll need to copy/paste this troop event page and replace head with chest in the condition area.

In ACE, you may also need to add the state immortal to the head before the battle starts (turn 0, under troop events), then change the event King Vectra posted to also add the command remove state immortal before applying the state death to the entire troop. This is because in ACE, troop events for the HP being <= 0% rarely run, as the enemy dies before the troop event can run in most cases.

Yep, that did the trick. It didn't do jack about the BGM but it did make poor Arumvorax die properly/ Thanks!

I might try the mechanical bull at the fair on Friday... for one of the challenges, if you stay on for two minutes, you win $200. I might give that a try and see if I win--I'm pretty good at holding on to things.
