Hi, I've been searching around and am having trouble finding an answer. I'm new to RMMV and would love any help!

I would like the walking sprites that appear on the overworld map to be much smaller than the walking sprites in towns/dungeons.

Example: Exactly like Chrono Trigger, where the town/dungeon map walking sprites look like this:

But the overworld walking sprites look like this:

I think it really helps the overworld feel much more congruent and expansive. (Note: I know how to change the actual sprite sizes, just can't figure out how to make my game automatically switch between them). I'm assuming there is perhaps a plugin for this I have overlooked? Or is this possible without a plugin? Thank you for your help!

The way I do this (I am sure there are multiple ways) is:
On transfers to the overworld
Screen Fadeout
Call Common Event [named Going Small for my games]
Change Actor Graphic [you need to do this for each actor, selecting the smaller version]
Any other transfer commands you need e.g. erase picture, fadeout BGS etc.
Transfer Player [note, change the Fadeout in that particular command to None, otherwise you end up with 2]
Fadein

The point of having the Fadeout/Fadein is that otherwise the player will momentarily see the sprite change.

On all transfers out of the overworld
Fadeout
Call Common Event [named Going Big for my games]
Change Actor Graphic [as before, but this time selecting the full size graphics]
Transfer Player [same note about Fadeout]
Fadein

As the OP has not been back to the thread since November, we must assume that the query was fully resolved, but that the OP forgot to ask for the thread to be closed.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
