I want to add an option to the Options Screen the changes a Switch or Variable so that I can call that Switch or Variable to make changes in an event [common or otherwise].  Unfortunately I have ZERO knowledge of Java and so have no idea how to do this.

Is there a way to add an option to the Options Screen so that I can either turn on/off a switch or add a value to a variable?

MV runs on JavaScript, not Java, there's a big difference. Also, adding an option that affects a switch is a little more complicated than just adding a new option, because the options are loaded in before a game is started, so the player could toggle the option before creating a new game, or before loading a saved one. I suppose, though, that a solution would be to hook into the new game creation and game load functions and add the value there.

Anyway, you'll need a plugin to do this, there's no way by default to add new options, or change how the existing ones work.

Thus, I prove my statement.

I had a feeling that would be the case...  Any idea where to start or maybe some pointers so I can try to make it myself?

there's alot of tutorial on youtube. If you already used with scripting and programming language, it's easy to figured it out.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
