So, i've made a few threads, but
it takes a while for people to notice them.
One of my threads hasn't even got a reply and it has been a while since i posted it.
Even when i get do viewers, it's rare for anyone to reply or give a reaction.
Am i just being impatient, or do you guys know any strategies to get feedback to your posts?

Normally I wont bother to respond to a post unless it is:
A- Interesting to me
B- I can resolve their problem at the very moment easily enough
C- Problem has already been solved, but I know of a slightly faster/better method for doing so
D- Thread has been up for a while with a more complicated issue and no replies... at that point depending on the issue I may finally take my shot at it.

I like helping people with issues most of the time, but if I don't know anything about what is going wrong I won't respond to a thread as I would just be wasting space making a pointless comment. And if I see someone bumping a thread Ill look at it again each time until I get the urge to see if I can assist IF I feel that I can maybe solve the problem with a bit of back and forth talking.

Just for clarification:
You refer to "getting feedback". I'm unclear if that's what you mean, as few people have several threads where feedback is what's required (game threads, basically). Do you mean replies to questions (such as those supposed in Ahuramazda's post) or do you really mean feedback? If it's the later, it would be helpful if you specified what type of feedback you have requested so that people's answers can be more focused.

EDIT
Okay, just went and had a look at the list of threads you've got and it looks as if you are mainly looking for feedback on music.

There are, broadly speaking, 4 main areas of expertise on this site: general gaming making (maps, database, skills etc. etc.), coding, graphic art and musicians. My impression is that musicians are the smallest group. You also post in the sub forum 'Art Literature and Music' which is not as well visited as most of the other sub-forums. For example, I hardly ever go there.

So your threads there are a niche within a niche. I noticed that one was just a single sprite. Maybe that's not the place for a post like that. Try the WIP thread in Resource Support. Some members put up short music tracks on their Profile Posts. Have a look at those over a few days and see what other people do.

Also you are probably hardly known. You have few posts and those are in less frequented areas. Get yourself known. If you want feedback, give some yourself.

@Ahuramazda has a pretty good answer here.

But it also is like any other thing you want to spark reaction with. Controversy, Drama and such get more attention than "How do I use a variable in RPG Maker".

Of course the former is likely to be shut down by mods as well. :D

In general, if it's a problem I can relate to (Had myself and solved it, or having it currently as well)
Or a generally interesting topic, or something I can easily answer, I usually respond. (If @Andar hasn't beat me to it yet :D)

Yeah, i mean feedback as in critique for Game Ideas, Art and Music.
The reason i posted that one piece of art there is because it wasn't really meant to be a sprite, it was just meant to be just a character design, so i thought "Art, Music and Literature" was the best place to post it.
The other reason was because i'm gonna post more art on that thread, and i'm afraid posting them on the status feed may be excessive.
I have used the status feed before, but i just thought there was more appropriate.
Maybe i should slowly repost the stuff on that thread to my status feed (because it only allows 2 posts per day).
Is that allowed?
Anyway, thanks for the reply, you really hit the nail on the head in terms of what i was talking about.

It's true controversy attracts more people.
I had forgotten to put a "Religious Content" warning on my game idea, and once i edited it to put that it got like twice the number of views.
Obviously i don't want to spark drama, partially because i might get banned, but also cause' that would be kind of a dick move.
So in general, i agree with you.

The most immediately important part of your post is the subject heading. That's what people see when they're looking - whether they're browsing a specific forum or just the list of new threads since the last time they were on.

I'm looking at your posts, and one that I presume you're talking about is "GuipenguinTheMaster's Stuff (Art, Music, etc.)".

I don't know what that is. If I were to guess from the title, I would presume it's someone posting resources they made that other people can download and use. I don't need more assets, so I'm not going to click on it.

If you're actually asking for feedback on your work, there's no way for anyone to know that from your subject heading.

Some of your other posts are about your game ideas, which I think are just going to get less activity generally. I know I don't see a lot of point to discussing other people's ideas (they either have a good idea or they don't, and me telling them it's not a good idea won't make them get one :stickytongue:) so that's also a kind of post I don't click into.

Do you think would putting "looking for feedback" would get more replies to the threads?
