How do you record your game?

I want to make a trailer for my project when it's finished but I don't know what software I should use. I tried Geforce Experience but it doesn't support I also tried Bandicam but it stretched the video XD

Obs is a pretty good video recording software to use. If you're on Windows 10 you can use the built-in game recorder by pressing WIN + G.

NVIDIA GeForce Experience if you have an NVIDIA graphics card.

I did fine with bandicam, as long as you set it to the right area of the screen to record.

That's the problem. I recorded the video with the game not set to fullscreen, and the video recorder set to only record the part of the desktop it as on. No problems that I could see.

Plus, fullscreen stretches the game in the first place (it has to, otherwise your game would take up the entire screen when first ran on the default resolution. It's just how computers work), keep that in mind. So the stretching you're seeing is from the game, all the recording software is doing is making it show up more.

I record with OBS, I have never encountered any real issues with it other than live-streaming it. However, I'm pretty sure that's my internet's fault.

I am interesting on the short video of gameplay recording. I have no idea, but excite to do so. What software do you and what is your advice about using it? I am just like to do something new and change pace. Thank you for understanding my logic.

I'll put in another vote for OBS. It's got a lot of settings that'll need to be tweaked for your exact preference, but once it's set up its flawless imo. Only thing that it's somewhat beat by is maybe Nvidia Shadowplay, just cause it's a way of capturing moments without otherwise bogging down your resources.

Yeah OBS may lag your system a bit if you don't have higher-end hardware. Although that's more of a caveat with recording/streaming in general than it is specifically with OBS. Like I mentioned, you can tweak the settings though, so you can record at a lower resolution, bitrate, and/or framerate, which helps free up resources for the activity you're actually recording.

Maybe there's a lighter-weight version of OBS out there, but one big advantage of OBS is it's popularity. It's been around long enough and been used enough that any issue you run into probably already had a solution found by someone else. There's lots of tutorials and compatibility. It's also been optimized several times over the years.

I'm using NVIDIA GeForce Experience, it doesn't bother frame rates much compared to other recorders (IMO).
