Hello, first of all I'm a new guy and new to this RPG programming.

So I'm really wondering on how far can you go when it comes to stretching the capabilities of this program. Because I'm planning to combine various elements of certain RPG elements into the game that I've been writing on and I don't know if the program can handle or even make it possible. Without further ado, here are the list:

Recruiting characters(I'm thinking of having 110 characters[33 Lawfully Good/44 Neutral/33 Lawfully Evil] but you can only choose 11 among the roster).

Spell/Attack combination, customizing turn/attack/magic order and change characters in battle.(See Breath of Fire IV).

Able to choose either to be Good, Neutral, or Evil in the path you want to take(See every Western RPG and Shin Megami Tensei series).

Able to make characters equipment almost every weapons and armor(depends on the time when was the character was born[because it'll be based on history, mythology, legends and other literary works).

Well that is all so far.

1) You can

2) You can (you can try the Skill Fusion script or something)

3) You can script or event that

4) I cannot understand it

-> If you meant creating a weapon during gameplay, it's possible... take a look at how Vlue's (I think it was Vlue's if I'm not mistaken) randomizer creates items in-game...

With the regards to 4th one, let me put it this way.

I have a character on paper named Jeanne D'Arc(yes, that Jeanne D'Arc) that can equip from spears, swords, flails, pistols, bows and arrows, knives etc. But there's a catch, she cannot equip like for example a Colt Peacemaker or a Winchester Rifle because it was after her time.

You can via utilizing the equip types...

You can for example do something like indicating these types on the database

Sword[1900s]

Sword[1800s]

Then make a character that is born on 1800s, then add the Sword[1800s] type to the feature list of that character so that he/she can equip any weapon that is classified under that type...

I really suggest that you try out the Maker for now and see what it can do because some of the things that you want require basic knowledge of the maker... while some needs some more advanced knowledge...

Your specific points are already answered, but I will add a general answer:

Because the entire engine is inside the script editor and completely open to changes, you can theoretically add anything at all - there are scripts that turn RM into an actiongame/jump&run-platformer.

Practically that is limited to either what someone can program for you or what already exists in the master script list. That list contains several hundred scripts to add new abilities or functions to the game's engine.

Some ideas are admittedly so difficult to program that no one has made scripts for them and it's unlikely that there will ever be scripts for things like Online-MMO - but theoretically (if you find and pay a dozen programmers for a few months) even that is possible.

Awesome thanks.

Anyway, you're from the Philippines? Wow, never thought that there would be someone from the Philippines who would be interested in developing RPGs. I know that Filipinos bow down to Koreans more to the Japanese and the Americans when it comes to game development.

I'm going to tell you, the game that I've been planning to develop is a love letter to all the RPGs that really made me realize that video games in some ways or another, is art.

Actually there are quite a few Filipinos here, and more that aren't part of the community... I myself was surprised when I came to knew that one of my friends from university is also using RM...

It's just really not a common thingy for people here... Most professional friends of mine that are developers are mostly on the casual phone games side... There aren't even any big console/PC game company here I think... so mostly, if they want to delve deeper into game dev, they would probably need to go abroad...

Awesome. Thank you. I'm going to be honest, I'm not a programming guy. But I already have the scripts and character bios for the game. And also by scripts, I mean the transition and the dialogues of each characters. Making dialogues for 110 character in seperate instances almost made me insane.

There is a script request forum here where you can request scripts for free - and those requests are usually fulfilled unless you're requesting something that would take months of work.

You just have to be very precise about what function you want to have added and wait politely until one of about a dozen scripters active here has time to check the request.

(and in this case, with scripts I mean the programming variant, not storyboards).

You might want to follow the link in my signature, it will explain some of the nomenclature used here and point you to the most important tutorials/tips when working with RM.

Understood. Don't worry, I'm a very, very patient guy. I don't get hissy fit when it's not done for a week.

Let's not go off topic here with chitchat - you can use the introductions forum for that.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
