Do you think that episodic is a bit harder to do because theres a lot of commitment and time to put in?
I think for me it's actually easier. I tend to get all excited for a project, only to lose motivation as it goes on. Smaller projects give me the excitement of actually completing something and with a much nearer goal in sight so I don't just flake out on it completely.

I think the only harder part to do is keeping things like branching choices between episodes. In a whole project, you could just make note of the switch or variable you use to track these things - but you have to be little more attentive when trying to keep these things between two different games entirely.

This makes a lot of sense. Continuity will be a real pain in the ass though, but I totally agree with the whole "excitement of actually completing something" aspect.

I want to work on stuff right now, but I am just so paranoid about the transferral process from VX Ace to MV right now that I'm just biding my time.

I hear you on that. When MV was announced, I decided to just work on the non-engine stuff in the meantime - story, characters, and the like.

I read somewhere that there is a transfer script or something that goes from Ace to MV.

Thats how I feel about the about the maker. I have a whole thing flushed out in terms of story and how I want to implement specific features.

Its the best way to get yourself familiarized with the cool features on this recent rpgmaker... maybe we should start making an hour or less mini game thread just for the sake of enjoyment and what each player can do with the latest engine.

Maybe I'll be done with the prologue part. Then about halfway from the ch 1. I already have the characters, plot, and setting written down. Hopefully, I'll be able to get my some of my victorian characters done with the character generator

You know, just a simple $2 million project called Elder Scrolls: Final Fantasy Dragon Quest. You get the idea.

lol, I actually voted 0% yet I DID pre-order it. I will be downloading it at midnight release and maybe even stream live a freestyle session of me goofing around with it on Twitch. By the way, who will have the fastest server to download RPG Maker MV? RPGMakerWeb or Steam? Since I WILL download it at midnight and play, lol.

I'll start drafting the story plot and battle system modifications, as I plan luck to play a factor during battles since I'm a poker, HeartStone, and Pokemon TCG player. Although, if the battle system evolves into something too complicated, I'll have to move it to Unity instead, lol

I actually have two projects that I am thinking about reworking into MV.  One is a commission based project (yes, he thought that far ahead and basically dumpped a pre-production document on me) that could really benefit from MV's ability to break the 9,999 HP/MP barrier.  The other is a stealth based game that I am currently writing a script for the game (as well as the game's story in the process) as I post this post.  I may keep the latter on VXAce just to show that it was worth it to buy the program in the first place.

RMMV
i don't want to commit to much gameplay wise till I can tinker with the plugins and try out some combat ideas. I did some prototyping in ACE while waiting but things are going to change a ton in MV so I'm staying in the shallow end for now. will have lots of time later though, this week mostly finishing up on unrelated stuff so I can spend time tinkering this weekend...

I voted 10%

I have the characters, world and rough story mapped out for a game but am waiting to really set anything in stone until I get my hands on the battle engine and figure out how I want to do that.  Right now I'm just patiently dying for the release date.

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
